< HomeJanuary 27, 2007 - We had a birthday party for Bethany this weekend. Lots of family and friends came over to share in the excitement. She choose to go with a Barbie theme. She was feeling a little under the weather, but she made it through the big event. Chase decided to try to walk on Friday. He just took off and walked several steps a few different times. He can't really get his balance so well yet, but he's coming along. 1/27/07: Bethany's 3rd birthday party January 22, 2007 - It's Bethany's 3rd birthday. She had her yearly well-child checkup. She was 37" tall (50th %ile) and weighed 31 lbs (50th %ile). Cognitively, she went up to age 5-10 on their screener. Chase is a pop tart hunter. He finds the girls' left over poptarts that they haven't eaten. They'll leave them on the coffee table or whatever and he gets them. I caught him once before he started. Then a bit later he must have found Emily's. He was going to town with that sucker- chocolate head to toe and lots of crumbs all over the floor. Good times. Quiet baby=must be into something. He's also doing this modified crawl thing. He gets one foot flat on the floor and pushes with it as he's still on one knee with his hands on the floor too. It's weird looking- and even more strange when he's coming at you like that, fast like a bug! Mr. Chase also started waving. He waved right at Michael when he'd come into the room or when he'd leave. Carolyn and Dellane went on a cruise. They also went to the Atlantis Resort. I'd like to go there someday. 1/23/07: Bethany, Emily and Crazy Chase 1/20/07: Atlantis Resort January 12, 2007 - Jeridy's birthday. I got older, worked the whole day, then ventured back home to the villa in the snowy weather. Joni moved into her house today, so we went there to help her move some things. January 7, 2007 - Video Edition I haven't posted videos in awhile. Here are a few cute ones. Hope you can view. 1/7/07Happy shopper Chase cruises along Shopper Chase 1/7/07 - Chase pushes the shopping cart (as long as he's not distracted by dancing) Talker Chase 12/18/06 - Chase babbles to the camera this is a little dark, but still cute Angel Girls 12/24/06 - Emily and Bethany sing in the Christmas Eve program at church In this one, the girls are to your far left. Bethany is the short one and Emily is just next to her on the very end. January 5, 2007 Chase got his first haircut. Jennifer, Chris, Christiane, and JT came here to pick up Claire and Halle. They stopped by for a visit while they were in town. I roped Jennifer into cutting not only Chase's hair (which no cosmetologist is excited about cutting a 7 mo old baby's hair), but also Bethany and Emily's bangs. They didn't put up nearly as much resistance! Aunt Jennifer gives Chase his 1st haircut and he still likes her when she's finished! It went by quickly. Once again, I began the year pregnant. In January we celebrated Bethany's 2nd birthday and my 29th. My sister, Jaimee, had her first baby, Breonna, in February. Michael turned 29 in March. I worked doing speech therapy mostly at the hospital in Junction City in the spring, but I also did some nursing home and school work as well. Michael continued to work at K-State and do freelance work on the side. We got to attend some symphony performances together while Grandma Carolyn watched the girls. By May, I was unable to wear any shoes I was so swollen. Chase came along on May 8th, just days after completion of my MBA coursework. He was a big kid with lots of hair. Michael was happy to have a boy. I was glad for the family to be complete. This year marked the end of my procreation days. Now I'll focus on taking care of the ones I've already made. I took the summer off to get to know Chase. I had a chance to spend time with my friends as well. My friend Jessie moved nearby and took a job in Junction City. My sister Jennifer had her third baby, JT, in August. I was able to attend his birth. That was my first one to witness, which was pretty cool. Emily turned 4 in August also. We marked the occasion by attending a Wiggles concert, which was very exciting for the girls (and, yes, Michael and I actually liked it too!). When I resumed work in August, I worked primarily in the schools in JC and on Fort Riley (military base), only helping occasionally in the nursing homes and hospitals. It was like having a new job, but it's good for me to mix it up so I stay interested! Interestingly enough, my friend Jessie was assigned to one of the same schools I was AND we even shared a classroom. With my return to work and raising three little ones, it seemed like I wasn't making time for myself or others. I made it a point to see some old friends and to keep up with others online. I also started exercising to have some time to myself. I entered the world of 'myspace' and text messaging this year too. I'm a bit behind, but I'm keeping up with the ever-changing world of communication as much as I can. Michael has kept up the balancing act of dropping off the kids, scheduling in time for Emily's preschool drop of/pick up, and getting the kids daily after work. He has had to change his lingo from 'the girls' to 'the kids'. They love him very much, partially because he spends so much time with them but also because he spoils them rotten. Michael spends his free time watching football, winning his fantasy football league, enjoying movies, downloading LOTS of music, and doing little projects of his choosing. He attended a conference in Texas in September. In November, I was able to join him at another conference he attended in Colorado. The year concluded with lots of time with the family. Michael and the kids joined his parents on a road trip to Phoenix to see Michael's brother, Matthew. We're hoping that 2007 goes as well as 2006 for our family and friends. God bless and happy new year!! Jeridy, Chase, Emily, Michael, & Bethany "Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly. Leave the rest to God." December 31, 2006 - Phoenix The weather wasn't as nice as last year. Grandpa and grandma got to see a whole new side of the girls. It was nice seeing Matthew. The drive home going through where the snowstorm hit sucked. -Michael Michael, Bethie, Em, Dellane, Matthew- Phoenix Bethie & Gma Carolyn at Rainforest Cafe- Phoenix
