< HomeDecember 31, 2006 Michael, the girls, and his parents headed out for Phoenix the day after Christmas. I guess they had fun. He'll have to write if he wants anything included because I wasn't there. I came back home with Chase. I worked and Jessie watched Chase. Then we all got sick- really sick. Luckily my mom came to help. The weather turned bad, so she stayed even longer than she expected but it was nice to have the company. That weather also impacted the return trip home for the rest of the clan. They're on the other side of Albuquerque ringing in the new year tonight. I believe the interstate is closed from Albuquerque on east, which is their route home. Oh well.. I'm spending the evening with the new man of my life this year- he's small (and currently sick and screaming) but pretty cute. Hopefully we'll be asleep as 2007 sneaks in. Happy 25th birthday to my sister Joni! 12/06 Chase wanting the dog kennel December 25, 2006 - Christmas Celebrations Christmas was fun. You know- it's all about the kids now. At least they're fun to watch since they sort of 'get it'. I don't know that Emily will buy the whole Santa thing much longer (she's just too dang smart), but we're playing it per daddy's orders. Chase and Jeridy (Uncle Chris in the background) Once again, Santa found us at the Villa on Christmas morning. The girls seemed a little too tired to realize what was going on, but Chase really loved playing with the baby gifts from Christmas' past. Christmas morning was spent at my parent's house with all of my sisters' families. There are 4 of us girls, 2 husbands, 9 kids (8 of which are 4 and under), my parents, and my grandpa (gma was sick). It was fun and not as crazy as you'd expect, but I'm guessing things will gear up next year when more of the kids can actually speak. Christmas morning at the Villa with the Santa gifts Princess/Ballerina Bethany Papa John & Bethany Aunt Jenn-Jenn & Emily Dancer-ella December 24, 2006 - Christmas Eve with Oetkens We did Christmas at home on Saturday before we headed back to the parents' houses. On Christmas Eve we went to church (a rare occasion for us), ate lunch with Aunt Charlene, got a chance to visit Michael's grandparents, aunts, and cousins, then went back to church. The girls were angels in the Christmas program. They were cute and Chase was well behaved. It was a Christmas miracle! Once church was over, we opened gifts at Michael's parents house. The kids really loved their princess dolls and we'll enjoy the stereo for our iPod. Thanks! Chase's first Christmas, 7 mo old Jeridy & Michael Grandma Carolyn, Papa Dellane, Bethany, & Emily 12/22/06: My work ladies & Emily December 20, 2006 I can't keep up with Chase. He is all over the place. He's pulling up on things and getting drawers open and ripping stuff out. He's fast too. Tonight he actually stood for a few seconds. I think it scared him. He's a daredevil- always letting go with one hand once he stands up. He's awesome at falling down. We're crossing our fingers that he won't end up with stitches any time soon. Michael and I already got our presents. He gave me a pretty past-present-future diamond necklace. He got a new laptop- yeah, that's Christmas, birthday, father's day, AND another Christmas worth. He will take awhile to play with it and get it all figured out. In the meantime, I'll be the one actually using it for stuff like this. Last night Aunt Jai came over with baby Bree. Dang Chase has become a big ol' chunk this past month. Even Breonna is smaller than him now and she's a big girl (10 months old). Oh yeah, we finally got to attend a Pillar concert on Sunday since they were nearby and I wasn't having a baby or anything. We spent the day shopping and visitng family, then saw the concert. I'm not a concert person. It was way too loud and Mike gives me a headache too. My head just stopped hurting yesterday finally. I think I'm good now- no more for me. I'm done. 12/20/06: Bedtime story
12/18/06: Jaimee, Bree, Chase, Jd, Emily & Bethie December 12, 2006 Emily had her Christmas program tonight. Grandma and Grandpa Oetken came down to see it even. It was short and sweet. Emily actually sang and participated. She was protesting right until we dropped her off in her classroom beforehand. She was a donkey and looked cute in her dress clothes and little costume ears. Of course, I didn't get any pictures of that. We all dressed up too, even Chase in his little suit pants and vest. cute, cute, cute. 12/12/06: Emily's Christmas Program December 9, 2006 Michael didn't really want us around, so the kids and I headed out to visit my sister. We haven't seen her in quite awhile. Her kids have grown. Here's our babies together. Weren't they just born? Chase has started to crawl too. It was cool- we were there as a family when he did it so we all saw him do it! 12/9/06 Chase & cousin JT December 7, 2006 Michael plans to start classes for his master's degree in January! He also started going to the YMCA and exercising several times a week. Who knows what his motives are- I'm glad he's doing something. Chase is mister tripod now- he goes from sitting to putting weight on his hands and getting onto one knee. He'll rock a bit and maybe swivel around or lunge for things, but he's mostly just on three limbs. Just tonight he got up onto all fours and slid himself backward across the kitchen floor. Oh no, he's mobile (almost). December 1, 2006 Chase had his 6 month doctor appointment. He's 28.5 inches long(99th %ile) and 18lbs 15 oz (75th %ile). He's doing all of the appropriate cognitive and motor stuff for his age too. He's happy and healthy. 11/27/06: Santa Chase |
