DECEMBER 28, 2005

We left on Chrismas day to head out for Phoenix to visit Michael's brother, Matthew. Dellane and Carolyn, Michael, myself, and our girls all loaded up in the van and headed out. It was a fun ride down, complete with a lot of wind and some car sickness. Once we got the whole hotel deal settled, we had a pretty nice time. I think Matthew liked getting some more of his stuff from home and getting to see the family again.

We went shopping and to the zoo. The girls really liked the zoo. Bethany has been having some issues with eating out. She would rather run around instead of eat, but she's learning.

We spent the 24th with Michael's side of the family including a stop at his grandparent's house then the farm. The girls loved it. In fact, Emily said, "I have so many presents, I don't know what to do!" We asked if she wanted us to call Santa to have him go by without leaving any more and she actually said yes.

The next morning, they woke up and got their Santa presents at the Villa. He found us! Emily gets the whole Santa thing, but Bethany, not so much.  We spent Christmas morning with the Landers at my parent's house. It was loud and noisy. Three of us four girls are pregnant this Christmas! We have 6 grandchildren this Chrismas and there will be at least 9 next. We're definitely going to have to have a change in venues since we've grown out of the house!

Here is a peek at new baby. We're at 20 weeks, half way through.

We're in Boston, MA right now. It's cold, but way warmer than it was at home last week. Julie and I ventured out and found our way on the subway, out to sites, and though many many shopping places. Julie's husband and Michael are here for the conferences.

Baby is five months along now. I have felt her (ok- he, she, it, whatever) move quite a bit lately. I can't sleep so very well. I keep waking up laying flat on my back with this terrible back pain and numb hands. I guess it'll go away when this baby is out. Until then, I guess it's only going to get worse from here. uhh...

Michael helped his dad with some work at the farm this last weekend. He fell and got this. That's a terrible bruise and this photo is several days later.

I've finished another quarter- another class down, only two more to go!  We are preparing for our trip this coming week. We're heading to Boston for Michael's conference. I'm just going to go because I've never been there. The kids get to stay home with their routine of going to the sitter's house during the day, but grandma will be staying with them in the evening. They'll probably like that better than having us around anyway.

New kid stuff- Bethany asked Michael some big long 'wh' question and we even understood it. Her speech is getting better and better, but her language skills are outpacing the speech still (she can think better than her mouth can move).

Emily is now into food questions. I've been explaining about good foods vs. bad foods. I explained that the things that God makes are good for us- like grapes, carrots, water, etc. She has been asking about specific foods too: pizza, cookies and such. It's so hard to explain.

Poor Michael, ouch! Yeah, that's a bruise.

Bethany has this funny thing that she does now. She loves to point out the Christmas lights and says that too, but it sounds like, "muh-muh Wites-s-s-s-s". She repeats the last sound in the last word that she says. She mostly does it with s, k, or t. Crazy kid. She also says that she wants to 'piss' (kiss) the baby and makes me bend down so that she can kiss my tummy. Emily talks to my tummy. She says that it's a boy, but she's conflicted. She really wants it to come out a girl named 'Dorothy'. Sure, and maybe she'll come out with ruby red slippers on too?

We had another baby appointment. We heard the heart beat and things look just fine. They also scheduled a sonogram for the end of December. We said we'd just wait a little longer so that we could just do it over Christmas break. Baby will be a little over half-baked by then.
